Spring Break Camp
School breaks are a time for kids to recharge — but without a plan, “recharging” can quickly turn into hours of screen time, boredom, and missed opportunities to grow. For children between 5 and 14 years old, the spring break camp at All Sports Kids in Tamarac is a better option: a week packed with sports, arts and crafts, field trips, and friendships that last well beyond spring break.
We’ve been welcoming the boys and girls of Tamarac and surrounding Broward County communities since 1997. Here’s everything you need to know about our spring break camp program.

Why Spring Break Camp Beats Staying Home
It’s tempting to let kids stay home over break — they’re tired from school, and a few lazy days sound harmless. But research tells a different story.
Kids who stay home during breaks tend to fall into unstructured routines where passive screen time replaces active play. Without planned activities, they miss out on the social interaction, physical movement, and mental stimulation that structured environments provide.
Spring break camp flips that script. Instead of another day on the couch, your child gets a full schedule of sports, games, creative activities, and supervised field trips — all in a safe, air-conditioned facility with trained staff.
The difference shows. Kids who attend camp come back to school more energized, more confident, and better prepared to engage with classmates and coursework.
5 Benefits of Sports Camp for Kids
Sports camps provide a range of important benefits for participants. Here are the five biggest reasons parents in Tamarac, Sunrise, Coral Springs, Plantation, and Lauderhill choose All Sports Kids for spring break.
1. Improved Physical Health
Sports camps enhance kids’ physical health by engaging children in activities that boost cardiovascular endurance and increase strength. Playing a variety of sports helps improve coordination, balance, and agility. Regular exercise also increases children’s energy levels throughout the day and improves their sleep quality at night.
The benefits extend well beyond childhood. According to research published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (November 2022), people who played sports during their childhood and adolescent years are more likely to participate in higher-intensity physical activity as adults. A separate study highlighted by Psychology Today (June 2015) found that childhood sports participation correlates with better physical health outcomes in adulthood.
At All Sports Kids, your child rotates through multiple sports and activities each day — so they’re not just getting exercise, they’re building a foundation of physical literacy across different movement patterns.
2. Development of Social Skills
Kids develop vital social skills like teamwork and communication at sports camp by interacting with peers and working together in team activities. Connecting with other kids from diverse backgrounds across Broward County improves their cooperation, empathy, and mutual respect.
Our campers are grouped by age, so your child is always working alongside peers at a similar developmental stage. Many of our campers tell us that the friendships they make at spring break camp are some of the strongest they have — because they’re built through shared experiences, not just shared classrooms.
3. Increased Confidence and Self-Esteem
Achieving new skills gives children more self-assurance. Overcoming challenges on the field or the cheer floor makes them more resilient and teaches them to view setbacks as learning opportunities rather than failures. Getting encouragement and feedback from our trained coaching staff helps kids believe in themselves and improves their self-image.
Creative activities like arts and crafts, dance, and face painting give kids who aren’t natural athletes a chance to shine too. Every child finds something they’re good at here.
4. Greater Sense of Responsibility and Work Ethic
Our spring break camp follows a structured daily schedule — three 45-minute activity intervals with breaks for meals, quiet time, and free play in between. Following this schedule gives children a stronger sense of responsibility and time management, skills that carry over into the classroom.
Sports also teach the importance of having a good work ethic. When children see their skills improve with practice, they learn that effort pays off — a lesson that applies far beyond the field.
5. Renewed Love of Sports and Decreased Burnout
Many children start playing sports out of pure passion. But over time, that love can fade as competition increases and pressure builds. A camp environment — where the emphasis is on fun, variety, and trying new things rather than winning — can help your child rediscover why they love being active. We’ve seen kids arrive burned out on their “main” sport and leave with a newfound interest in something they’d never tried before.
Our State-of-the-Art Facility
All Sports Kids operates out of a sprawling 11,000-square-foot, air-conditioned facility at 7081 N. Pine Island Road in Tamarac, Florida. The entire space is newly renovated and continuously supervised by our certified, trained staff — all of whom are fingerprinted and hold a minimum of 45 hours of child care training.
Our facility features seven dedicated activity areas:
- The Turf Floor Sports Arena — Where most sporting activities take place, including flag football, floor hockey, soccer, baseball, kickball, and dodgeball
- Full-Size Basketball Court — 3-on-3 games, KnockOut, Around the World, and H-O-R-S-E
- Cheer Floor — Cheerleading, tumbling, and dance with instruction from a professional cheerleading company (Tuesday through Thursday)
- Dance and Exercise Room — Martial arts, hula hooping, musical chairs, and recreational games
- Arts and Crafts Room — Arts, crafts, face painting, and reading — available continuously throughout the day for kids who want a break from sports
- Multi-Purpose Room — Life skills classes, reading, and quiet study time
- Cafeteria — Free food program meals are available for all campers. Children can also bring snacks from home
We also have a behavior therapist on-site and our own buses and vans for safe transportation to field trip locations and school pickups.
Spring Break Activities and Daily Schedule

Our action-packed activity program is built around three different 45-minute intervals, each focused on a different sport or activity. Between intervals, kids take breaks for meals, quiet time, and free play. You can view our Sample Spring Break Schedule to get a detailed look at how a typical day runs.
Activities include:
- Flag Football
- Floor Hockey
- Soccer
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Karate
- Cheerleading
- Tumbling
- Dance
- Arts and Crafts
- And more
Arts and crafts are offered continuously throughout the day, so kids who want a creative break from sports always have that option.
Important: Our spring break camp is a day camp program — not a sleepaway camp. Children must be picked up at the end of each day. All Sports Kids is open seven days a week, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Field Trips Your Kids Will Love
Throughout the spring break period, we coordinate staff-supervised local field trips designed to offer off-site educational and hands-on learning experiences. Past field trip destinations have included:

- Movie theaters
- Cookouts and outdoor adventures
All field trips are supervised by our fully licensed staff with safety as the top priority. For the latest field trip schedule, check the All Sports Kids Facebook page.
What About the Xtreme Camp?

How to Choose the Right Spring Break Camp
Not all spring break camps are the same. Here’s what to look for when choosing the right fit for your child:
- Staff qualifications — Are instructors trained and certified? At All Sports Kids, every staff member is fingerprinted and holds a minimum of 45 hours of child care education.
- Variety of activities — Does the camp offer more than one sport? Kids benefit most when they’re exposed to different types of movement and play.
- Structure with flexibility — A good camp has a planned schedule but also gives kids downtime and creative options when they need a break.
- Age-appropriate grouping — Campers should be placed with peers their own age to encourage growth and appropriate competition.
- Safety and supervision — Is the facility licensed? Is supervision continuous? We are a licensed child care facility with staff supervision at all times.
- Hours that work for parents — We’re open 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week, because we know working parents need flexibility.
Serving Families Across Broward County
All Sports Kids is located in Tamarac, but we welcome families from across Broward County. Many of our spring break campers come from:
- Tamarac
- Sunrise
- Coral Springs
- Plantation
- Lauderhill
We offer bus and van transportation for pickups, making it easy for families in surrounding communities to get their kids to camp safely and on time.
